The 2004 Merauke Outcross x Pepper Clutch

I usually refrain from flamboyant, cliché adjectives when describing my babies, but "amazing" seems to be the best word to describe this clutch. These offspring were the most unusual and beautiful batch of chondro babies I have ever seen. Trooper Walsh agreed, commenting on The ChondroWeb Breeders Forum that, "...we are likely to see things never seen before in selectively bred chondros with those babies." How prophetic those words became when the yearling began to change colors and a chondro female named Ella-Diablo emerged as the standout among a whole group of screamers.

This clutch was further elevated in value when Walsh produced the second known US albino in the spring of 2005, making the sire a 50% possible het and opening the potential for het status of all his offspring. I have three female holdbacks from this clutch to breed back to the sire in an attempt to prove out his possible het genetics. This is how Walsh produced his yellow albino baby...imagine the possibilities of dark high end baby albinos.
