The 2004 Aquaman x My Song Clutch

This was the only successful blue-to-blue pairing in the US for 2004, and again the results were disappointing regarding clutch size. After laying all slugs the year previously, My Song produced five fertile eggs this time around. I kept one baby which developed into a male with yellow dorsal markings and mite-phase speckling. He began developing blue on the sides as a yearling.

Sadly, this was the last offspring for either of these two blue adults. Aquaman died in the spring of 2004 at the age of ten, and My Song tragically died for no apparent reason at the beginning of the 2005-2006 breeding period. Her sister Rosina died in 2004 without ever successfully reproducing. Whatever contributed to the outstanding beauty of these two Walsh females apparently didn't carry over to breeding fertility.
