The 2003 Happy Jack x Blue Diamond Clutch

Blue Diamond proves her ability as a reliable breeder once again, this time with first-timer and the very shy Lemon Male Happy Jack. I didn't see very much breeding activity with this pair and was honestly surprised when I saw the female ovulate and lay a large clutch of fertile eggs. The bold markings of all the babies was a possible indication of the strength of the dam's Sorong-type roots, and most of the adults I have seen from this clutch tend to favor Sorong- type markings, but with pastel or yellowish tones or markings on some of them. A keeper female I have (Pastella) shows some definite Lemon influence from the sire, although not a high yellow animal by any definition.

Happy Jack has proven to be a very poor breeder male, showing little or no interest with females he has been paired with. I still hope that one day he will breed another female succesfully...he has proven that he is able.
