I acquired the two wild collected adults that produced this clutch in 2001 as long term captive wild-collected
Arus. Since no documentation came with them, I refer to them as Aru types, and they do conform in every way to the
accepted standard description of this Island form. it was not easy getting these two to mate, and I worked at rotating
them into each other's cages and provoking activity. The female was grounded throughout the pregnancy and ovulated there
also. I placed her into the nest box myself. All the artifically incubated hatchlings were yellow with stubby black tails.
I have one female keeper with classic F1 Aru traits: grass green color, white dorsal markings, and blue on the sides and
belly. She is much more placid than her nasty parents, both of which are now deceased.
