Fine Green Tree Pythons Breeding Projects For 2007-2008
The 2007-2008 Breeding Season is now "in the books" and as usual, some good things have taken place along with some disappointments. The weather was cooperative this winter with frequent frontal systems moving through, and three pairs have produced fertile clutches.

Reservations and deposits:

Reservations are now being accepted for the third clutch in the incubator. A 10% non-refundable deposit is required to make a reservation. Please see the Terms page for all the details about making reservations, baby selections, etc. I am always available to answer any questions.

International Sales and Shipments:

I have investigated the process obtaining CITES permits and for legally shipping captive bred green tree pythons to destinations outside the US. While I may do this at some point in the future, I do not make international sales at this time. The process for obtaining permits from US Fish and Wildlife can take almost a year, and because I do not live near one of the US export locations, an export broker must be hired to process and inspect the shipments. This means boxes will be opened and perhaps re-opened, and I cannot guarantee live arrival under these circumstances. I hate to say "no" but at this time I have to.

About pricing:

As my color-selective breeding program has expanded over the years, it has become more challenging to set estimated prices. As each year's results become evident, some adjustments to the estimated baby prices are inevitable. I always try to make accurate estimates based on potential and/or past breeding results. Based on the prices for many ball python morphs within the saturated ball market, my high end GTP pricing structure is an exceptional investment. I am often told by Australian keepers than my prices are unbelievably affordable, based on what they must pay for CB babies.

I am often asked about the price difference between yellow and maroon hatchlings. This is entirely dependent on the bloodline and the anticipated results. With many specialized bloodlines, one color phase of neonate has demonstrated a tendency for specific results when compared to the other. Sometimes these difference can be subtle; sometimes they can be extreme. Prices are set based on all information available. Keep in mind that yellow offspring can and do produce maroon offspring when paired with the right mate. I am always available to answer questions about my price structures, but as a general rule I do not "haggle" or make quantity discounts.

Rain-X x Day Dream

Rain-X (GM-04-24) Rain-X (GM-04-24)

Day Dream (JH-01-01) Day Dream (JH-01-01)

This calico morph pairing combines F3 genetics from Rain-X (Calico Junior x Lemon Girl, 2004) with spectacular pastel Day Dream. A few choice offspring were produced by Day Dream and Cal. Jr. in 2006 and the results have been excellent. It is hoped that this pairing will introduce more yellow into the project. These are F4 calico offspring.

Hatch Update: 22 eggs were deposited on February 27th while I was in Australia. An experienced breeder took care of setting up the eggs for me. I candled them upon my return and found 16 to contain good vein development. On April 19th (day 52 of incubation) at 8:00 AM 2 eggs had pipped and I manually pipped the rest. A total of 8 healthy hatchlings emerged. Baby photos can be seen here.

Deposits and Reservations: At this time, all the hatchlings have been reserved.

Price: $6000

Mojo x Wild Child

Mojo (TW-02-21) Mojo (TW-02-21)

Wild Child (GM-03-46) Wild Child (GM-03-46)

I am trying an experiment with this pairing, hoping to tap the beautiful blue belly coloration of this F1 Aru type female from wild parents and add it to the blue genetics from Mojo.

Hatch Update: A total of 15 strong eggs were deposited on March 5. On April 24th at 10:00 PM the first egg pipped and the remaining eggs were manually pipped the next day. A total of 13 brown babies have now hatched, clutch photos can be seen here.

Deposits and Reservations: I am going to offer ten offspring. As of March 27 this clutch is sold out.

Price: $2000 for 2008 babies. If these develop good blue coloration they will be more next time.

Carpetman x Queen

Carpetman (GM-97-01) Carpetman (GM-97-01)

Queen (Farm raised) Queen (Farm-1998?)

Queen babies Hatchlings

These two unusual chondros both possess mottled green and black coloration with bluish tones. Carpetman (the artist formerly known as "Mr. Jade" and renamed by my wife) is from my 1997 Joan Collins clutch. Joan was Powder's sister and this line has produced some great stuff over the years. I have rarely seen a Biak type with as much blue as Queen. She has progressively developed more blue each season and is now a true hormonal blue female. The photo above was taken in her cage on April 26th, 2008.

Hatch Update: A total of 21 large good eggs were laid on March 11. Two died during the first two weeks of incubation. On May 1 the first four pips appeared, all maroon. The remaining eggs were manually pipped and all 19 contained live maroon babies. Click the photo above for a full size image of some of the hatchlings. Baby photos can be seen here.

Deposits and Reservations: I am going to offer approximately 15 offspring. Deposits are now being accepted, please contact me for information.

Price: $2000-$2500
