I had been keeping my eyes open for a really nice pair of high white Aru chondros when I
found this male and several other chondros for sale in an on-line classifieds site.  Although
wild collected, this male was exactly what I was looking for in coloration and so I decided to buy him and a hand-selected wild female from among several being offered.  The animals
were represented to me as three year captives and good feeders, which I found to be true.

Although I am a staunch advocate of captive breeding, I am enthusiastic to have this male
and his mate.  Not only do they represent new wild blood, but they also conform beautifully
to the accepted Aru race phenotype.  While this does not make them locality-specific, it
does make them an exciting breeding project.
