| Lemongirl laid her first clutch in the spring of 1999, but only four eggs were fertile. One of these was a runt, one of two twins in the egg. This animal was eating tiny pinks and appeared to be a survivor, when it died mysteriously. Soon it became obvious there was a serious problem with many of the spring hatchlings, and later a kidney-destroying toxin was diagnosed...but too late to save nearly twenty babies from four clutches. The Lemongirl babies all succumbed. The clutch was sired by a male with high yellow genetics, that is now in another collection. |
